Bespoke pedestal systems, structural components and made-to-order solutions for out-of-the-ordinary raised access flooring projects.
Our industry is forever changing and evolving, which is why at Isaac Grainger’s, we’re always thinking of the future and how we can continue our legacy. Our Research & Development team are always drawing up something new and inspiring, whilst keeping our promises of meeting the highest standards of performance and reliability.
Whether we’re updating and modernising our current catalogue of products or creating something bespoke from scratch, our advanced manufacturing methods and unique engineering equipment allows us to carry out rigorous testing to create products that perform flawlessly. “What if we did this…” is thrown around our factory day in and day out and keeps us innovating year after year.
What was once a small blacksmith and forging business in 1864 has slowly developed into the UK leader for raised access flooring and more. 160+ years of innovation has given us the time and experience to succeed, but also to make mistakes, to understand what makes a good quality product, something the competitors cannot offer.
XP & XP Extra Range

Special Pedestal Systems
T Range
The T Range is a unique pedestal designed for compatibility with older Tate panels. Engineered with simplicity in mind, it offers a straightforward installation: no stringer compatibility and is fixed using a standard M6 panel screw, making incorrect installation incredibly difficult.
Welded with an integrated metal spacer and manufactured to follow the same size guide as our H Range, the T Range provides reliable, consistent support for recycled flooring systems. Available exclusively as a made-to-order product, it carries a lead time and is supplied in our standard Zinc coating.
BM Range
The BM Range is a unique variation of our well-known X Range pedestal, redesigned with a distinctive twist. It features an X Range base cut to height, but unthreaded, paired with a 175mm nipple head without a socket; effectively creating a reversed pedestal configuration.
Designed for a different style of installation, the BM Range allows height adjustment to take place after the floor panel has been attached. The head simply drops into the base and uses the nut to adjust accordingly, unlike traditional systems where pedestals must be measured and adjusted in advance, with panels installed last.
This approach offers greater flexibility during installation and final levelling. Compatible with both Loose Lay and Screwdown stringer systems, the BM pedestal is supplied with a 12mm nut for precise adjustment. Suitable for void heights from 200 mm to 600 mm, the BM Range provides a versatile and efficient solution for raised access flooring applications.

Ramp Pedestals
Our Ramp pedestals are PSA tested, delivering reliable performance on every project. Designed for fast, simple installation on sloped areas, they meet the highest fire regulations, giving you complete peace of mind. Say goodbye to wooden ramps; these pedestals are the modern solution for any gradient.
Safe, secure, and reliable, they work seamlessly with our H and X Range pedestals. Available in standard heights from 40mm to 1525mm, each unit offers generous adjustment and a slight overlap between sizes for a perfect fit every time.
We keep key sizes in stock for rapid delivery and can manufacture special heights for larger projects. Whatever your requirements, our system can be tailored to suit your needs.
Structural Stringers
Our pedestal stringers are designed to meet the demanding performance and load requirements of the Access Flooring Industry. Stringers are used where additional lateral stability is required or where floor heights exceed 500 mm.
Box stringers manufactured to customer-specific requirements are available in 25mm x 25mm x 3mm thickness and are used in conjunction with our XP systems.

Pedestal Cross Bracing
Additional cross-bracing solutions are available for projects that require extra lateral stability and site-specific structural support across bespoke raised access flooring layouts.
Made to order for specialist raised access flooring configurations.
Fully Threaded Tube
Our fully threaded, ERW-manufactured hollow mild steel tube is a versatile solution suitable for a wide range of applications. Common uses include industrial-style lighting builds, bespoke furniture projects, architectural metal frameworks, and general fabrication work.
The tube is fully hollow, allowing cables, wires, or other contents to pass cleanly through the centre. Standard sizes include 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″, and 1″, with self-coloured or zinc-plated finishes and custom cutting available in 10 mm increments.
Flatplate
Our steel flat plates are made to order in depths from 3mm to 40mm and to a range of lengths. Engineered to bear heavy loads and provide reliable structural support, they’re ideal for raised floors, beams, columns, machinery, tooling, and fabrication.
Fully customisable, these bespoke plates are the perfect solution for projects that demand strength, precision, and versatility.
U Channel
A three-sided, U-shaped bar commonly used for bridging, and compatible with other products in our catalogue. It features a 125mm base with 65mm sides and can be cut to the standard 600mm panel length or manufactured to a bespoke size.
The bar fits perfectly with a 95mm pedestal head, including X Range and H4E upwards, and is also compatible with select Swift Leveller models. Available self-coloured or with a standard zinc-plated finish, it offers a versatile and durable solution for raised access flooring installations.
Bridging, Box Section & Angle
Bridging beams, made from steel box section, provide essential support for raised floor panels where pedestals cannot be installed due to underfloor services such as pipes or cable runs. Designed to span these obstacles, the beams create a stable, level platform that ensures floor panels remain fully supported, preserving the integrity of the raised floor system.
Bridging can be used in raised access flooring systems as structural members or stringers to provide additional structural supports, improve load distribution, and enhance overall system stability. Manufactured to any thickness or dimension requirements.
Angles provide additional strength, stability and reinforcement. In raised access flooring applications, an angle is fixed to the last pedestal to support the perimeter and provide additional structural support in accordance with PSA specification requirements.
