FAQ

What are the benefits of using a raised access floor?

A raised access floor allows building services to be installed out of sight, beneath it whilst allowing quick and easy access for maintenance. Raised access flooring is particularly useful for covering power, comms and data cables, gas pipes, water and drainage pipes, heating, ventilation and air conditioning peripherals.

Where are raised access floors typically used?

Isaac Grainger have supplied raised access flooring to most types of commercial building including:

  • Data Centres
  • Airports
  • Ministry of Defence
  • Schools & Universities
  • Hospitals
  • Laboratories
  • Offices
  • Shopping Centres
  • & much more

How do you calculate the number of pedestals required?

Multiply the floor area (in M²) by 3.2. You can use Isaac Grainger’s access floor calculator to quickly work the exact quantities you will need.

What type of pedestals / panel do I need?

Each project has a unique requirement. The type of pedestal and panel you will need will depend upon the traffic the area receives, the type of environment it is installed in and the loading capacity the floor system needs to achieve. Please call us to discuss your options.

What floor heights can I achieve?

Our pedestals start from 20mm up to 1.5 metres but bespoke heights can be manufactured to your requirements.
